So, you've seen the website. You've gotten a good idea of what the plot is, and a basic understanding of the analysis. However, the other websites probably gave you that much too; so you may be wondering, why should this book be picked instead of the others? You might also be thinking this:
However, what's wrong with reading over the summer if it is a book you will actually enjoy? Don't think of it as being forced to read, think of it as a fun way to pass time. Trust us when we say that the book is enjoyable to read.
Well, let's start with plot. A lot of us enjoyed One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and a lot of the reason for that was the fun plot. Symbolism is great, but when you read a story at first glance, the plot is what really propels you on. For a bunch of teenagers, a book about a guy going around and talking down androids is a fun, enjoyable piece of fiction. The deep language and vivid setting add to the plot line, and it propels a reader from its start to the very end. It is a fun book to read; easy to grasp (Shakespeare, anyone?), fun to read, and really deserved to be picked.

Well, with this book, you probably will get it. As you can see, the number of symbols is huge; there are tons of them. Each character has so much to him or her that they could all be seen as symbols. Whether someone is just not used to analysis or if they are rusty after a long vacation, this book has tons of easy and understandable content. When our group read this, we found enough analysis to outline about 2 pages, and that was from the first 35 pages only. My reading journal on this book was 23 pages long, and practically all I wrote about was analysis. Trust me when I say that this book is a great way to ease the new sophomores into a new year; it's not taking the easy way out, but it can be done independently without too much stress involved. Reading this book doesn't require too much discussion either, and it is fun to read too!
